The voluntary association of municipalities Josef Lada Region was established on 23.11.2000 by an agreement entered into by mayors of 18 municipalities.
- The main objectives of the association include the development of tourism and culture, and promotion. The tourist region situated between Prague and the Sázava river bears the name of Josef Lada – one of the most prominent personalities of the Czech culture. The creator of the well-known tomcat Mikeš and other animal characters, water sprites and fairies, and the author of illustrations for Hašek’s Good Soldier Švejk found lifelong inspiration for his work in the landscape surrounding his birthplace Hrusice.
- Visitors to this romantic hilly region can choose from a number of cultural, historical and natural attractions. These sites are interconnected by a network of well marked hiking and cycling trails with the total length of 140 km. Sport lovers can enjoy a game of golf, tennis and squash or water sports. The proximity of and easy access to the capital city and other great locations, such as Kutná Hora and Konopiště, make our region an excellent starting point for your active holiday and discovering what our country has to offer.
We look forward to your visit.
